EU Conference Invitation – 6 May 2026
The Diplomatic Club – Skopje and the
Ss. Cyril and Methodius University – Iustinianus Primus Faculty of Law – Skopje
have the distinct honour to invite you to participate in the high-level conference:
“30 Years on the European Path: North Macedonia–EU Relations and the Road Ahead”
6 May 2026 (Wednesday)
11:00h – 14:00h
Iustinianus Primus Faculty of Law – Skopje
The conference is convened to mark two significant milestones in the relations between North Macedonia and the European Union:
30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations and
25 years since the signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement.
These events have defined the trajectory, substance, and resilience of our partnership and have paved the way for the European integration process of North Macedonia.
The conference comes at a critical juncture for the future of EU enlargement and provides a timely opportunity not only to reflect on the progress achieved, but also to reaffirm the strategic commitment to European integration. Against the backdrop of evolving geopolitical dynamics and renewed debates on the European Union’s role and credibility, the event aims to provide a platform for substantive and forward-looking dialogue among senior policymakers, diplomats, academic leaders, and representatives of the business community and youth.
The programme will feature high-level introductory interventions, including Minister Bekim Sali and Ambassador Michalis Rokas, followed by two thematic panels addressing:
- The geopolitical context of enlargement, the role of youth, and opportunities for re-energizing the European path
- The centrality of the rule of law and economic convergence as indispensable foundations for a credible and merit-based accession process
We would be particularly honored by your presence and contribution to this timely discussion, which seeks to generate policy-relevant insights and reinforce a shared commitment to advancing the European perspective of North Macedonia.
The conference will be held in Macedonian and English and will be open to media coverage.
Please confirm your participation no later than 04 May 2026:
